A new type of speaker
After making several sets of the "Ultimate Sound" speakers, a parallel design process began on a new type of speaker. After some exploratory studies, I arrived at the "Energy Cube." There could hardly be a greater contrast in shape with the rounded character of "Ultimate Sound."

This model took much less time to make, because five sides of the cube are identical. So instead of six molds, I only needed two. And luckily, there was just enough silicone left in the tank to make the usual mold for the mold.

After I had cast the six plaster mold pieces and they were thoroughly dry (this took over a week), it was time to start casting. I knew this wouldn't be an easy task, but in practice, it was still quite a challenge. I now realize it might be interesting to calculate the weight of the fully cast mold. The sides are about 32 cm, so the volume is roughly 33 L. The density of plaster is around 1.3 and the density of casting clay is about 1.8. If we average the densities to 1.5, that would already give us 50 kg!

After drying, I nicely finished the sides that were a bit rough due to thin edges in the mold with a metal spatula.
Here's another fun video of me emptying the mold.
