The casting process
Casting with casting clay. The plaster mold must be completely dry and the casting clay must be the correct thickness. After half an hour, pour the excess clay back in and let the mold sit for another two hours.
The mold filled with clay weighs almost 30 kg! It's quite a job. The mold parts must be securely fastened with bands to prevent them from sliding.
This is the first model that's good enough to keep. I've numbered it with a stamp.
